Run along the river thanks and, every time you come to a bridge, cross it. That way you not only get to see London from the north and south side of the river but you also get an uphill steps routine into your workout, which will give added benefits for your calves and glute muscles.
Post-workout breakfast in London Grind. Situated just on London Bridge, it offers a delicious choice of smashed avocado on toast, porridge and protein smoothies that are delicious and nutritious.
Yoga at the Shard. Increase your flexibility, balance, muscle tone and energy levels in a truly unique setting. Yogasphere offers four yoga classes per week, which take place on level 24 of The Shard, offering the best views over the city.
London Cycle tour. Fat Tire Cycles and The Secret Bike Tour of London both have London Bridge meeting points and in 3 – 4 hours of cycling at a leisurely pace, you not only burn calories with this low impact workout, but you also get to take in the sights of The London Eye, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral.
Changing of the guards walking tour: Going for a walk improves your mood and helps you to maintain a healthy weight, and the Changing of The Guards at Buckingham Palace is a must when in London
Burgess Park is less than two miles away from the hotel and has a lovely lake, cafe, outdoor gym, children's play area, BMX track and tennis courts. There is a 5km walking/running route, which is marked by butterfly signals painted on the pathway and the recycled iron markers. You can also register with Parkrun for weekly time-trial runs and join for free.
Have a hotel room workout. There's plenty of space to do some sit-ups, squats and push-ups before you start the day. Do each exercise for a minute, rest and repeat three times and you've had almost a 10-minute full body workout to kick start your day. Check out my YouTube channel if you’re looking for some inspiration!
Check out the hotel gym: It's lovely, so you still feel as though you're on holiday!
If you're pushed for time, grab lunch at Itsu (Asian-inspired cuisine) or New York deli-style Pod. They have plenty of healthy food and drink options, both hot and cold, to make eating well on-the-go easy. Alternatively, walk across the beautiful Tower Bridge and eat at The Natural Kitchen for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There’s enough on the menu in case you want to indulge, but they have loads of nutritious options too with fresh salads (their Seared Wild Line Caught Tuna Steak is my favourite) and they even serve organic, vegan wine!
The newly-opened 1Rebel on the south bank has a great fitness class called Reshape which is a mix of cardio, HIIT and weights, great for all abilities and great sound system!
